There are numerous opportunities to find scholarships.
First place to look is through SchooLinks. Choose Finances in your SchooLinks account. SchooLinks will help you search for scholarships from the colleges you are applying to!

The Counseling Center receives numerous scholarships opportunities throughout the school year.

The Community Foundation administers more than 130 scholarship opportunities. Most of their scholarships are for institutions of higher learning, but some awards apply to special opportunities like summer camp, music lessons, or high school study-abroad programs.
New York State offers a variety of grants and scholarships for residents who plan to attend in-state colleges.
Sallie Mae Scholarship Search: Scholarship Search is the free way to get access to more than 6 million college scholarships worth up to $30 billion.

Scholarships
Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship-Career in Government Service: The annual National Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship Awards for students completing twelfth grade (or final high school year) who are planning careers in government service. Scholarship applicants must be citizens of the United States. Each interested student is invited to write a one-page essay stating why he or she plans a career in government service including any inspiration to be derived from the leadership of George Washington in his famous crossing of the Delaware. This essay must be accompanied by a recommendation from the high school principal or guidance counselor evaluating the student's achievements, along with transcripts, national testing scores, and other supporting information of the applicant's choice as described in the Official Rules.

Asian and Pacific Islander American Scholarship: The APIA Scholarship is our largest scholarship program, open to AANHPI undergraduate students attending any U.S. accredited university or college. Scholarship amounts range from $2,500 one-year awards to $20,000 multi-year awards. APIA Scholars has a special focus on supporting AANHPI students who live at or below the poverty line; are in the first generation of their family to attend college; are representative of the APIA community’s diversity, (geographically and ethnically}, especially those ethnicities that have been underrepresented on college campuses due to limited access and opportunity. Strong applicants would also have an emphasis on community service and leadership.

John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest: The Profile in Courage Essay Contest challenges students to write an original and creative essay that demonstrates an understanding of political courage as described by John F. Kennedy in Profiles in Courage.

Dr. Aura-Lee A.& James Hobbes Pittenger American History Scholarship: A scholarship for up to 4 consecutive years to a graduating senior who will have a concentrated study of a minimum of 24 credits in American History or Government while in college. Visit the website below for more information.

Occupational Therapy Scholarship: The Occupational/Physical Therapy Scholarship, is a one-time scholarship in the amount of $2,000, is awarded to two students who are in financial need and have been accepted or are attending an accredited school of occupational or physical therapy (including art or music therapy). A letter of acceptance into the program or the transcript noting the applicant is enrolled in the program must be included with the application.

Polish Heritage Society Scholarship: To be eligible for the scholarship a student must be a senior who is of Polish descent (at least one parent) and lives in Monroe County or one of the surrounding six contiguous counties. The student is required to have an official copy of his/her transcripts mailed or emailed by their high school.

Susan Cowell Scholarship: To assist students who identify as LGBTQ and are pursuing post-secondary education in fields aligned with public health, nonprofit administration, or social justice activism, including social activism through the arts. Apply online.

Society of Manufacturing Engineers Scholarship: The SME Education Foundation Family Scholarships are awarded annually to students who meet the criteria below. Four students will be selected, one student will receive a $40,000 scholarship payable over four years. The remaining three students will each receive $20,000 scholarships payable over four years.
Must have at least one parent or grandparent who has been an SME member in good standing for the last two years. This includes step-mothers and step-fathers.
Pursuing a degree in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology, or a closely related engineering field of study at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.
Graduating High School senior or undergraduate student with up to 30 credit hours completed.
Must enroll full-time at the college or university of choice.
Overall High School GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Minimum SAT score of 1000 and/or ACT score of 21.
Must reside within the United States or Canada.
Demonstrate academic excellence and an interest in manufacturing engineering or related technology

Morton Gould Young Composer Awards: The Awards honor the late Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and The ASCAP Foundation’s former president Morton Gould’s lifelong commitment to encouraging young creators. Open to composers of original, concert music (“classical”), the Awards encourage developing music creators during the earliest stages of their careers. The Awards are open to young composers (each, an “Entrant”) who have not reached their 30th birthday. Entrants must also be, at the time of entry, a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or enrolled student with a valid and current U.S. student visa and at least 13 years of age.

Dell Scholar Program: The Dell Scholars program targets low-income, highly motivated students who are better than their numbers indicate and demonstrate the drive to succeed despite personal obstacles. George S. and Stella M. Knight Essay Contest: To participate, students must submit an original 800- to 1,200-word essay based on an event, person, philosophy or ideal associated with the American Revolution, Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the United States Constitution. Each student's essay will be judged based upon its historical accuracy, clarity, organization, grammar and spelling, and documentation. See website or application form for details.

HSF Scholarship Fund: HSF empowers students and parents with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete a higher education, while providing support services and scholarships to as many exceptional students, HSF Scholars and Alumni as possible.

McDonald’s HACER National Scholarship: The McDonald’s HACER National Scholarship is an outstanding opportunity for students who have at least one parent of Hispanic heritage. Scholarships are worth $25,000 per year. As long as award winners are in good standing, scholarships are for all four years!

Gordon A. Rich Memorial Scholarship Program: GAR’s mission is to award grants to support the higher education goals of its recipients. The recipients of GAR scholarships are exceptionally qualified high school students with demonstrated financial need whose parents or guardians have, or had, a career in the financial services industry.

Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship: The Vegetarian Resource Group each year will award $20,000 in college scholarship money to graduating U.S. high school students who have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and/or communities. Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, or fowl. Applicants will be judged on having shown compassion, courage, and a strong commitment to promoting a peaceful world through a vegetarian diet/lifestyle.

Rodney B. Janes Business, Vocational or Technical Award: This need-based scholarship provides educational assistance to young adult students up to age 30 who are residents of Monroe County, NY, have financial need, and are attending or entering post-secondary business, vocational, or technical schools or programs in Monroe County. Students should be of diverse ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds. Applicants do not need a high school diploma or GED to be eligible to apply.

New York Water Environment Association Scholarships: The New York Water Environment Association is a non-profit educational organization of water professionals promoting sustainable clean water quality management through science, education and training. BMW/SAE Engineering Scholarship: This annual scholarship is provided by BMW AG in recognition of its commitment to excellence in engineering. BMW is world famous for designing and building luxury, high-performance passenger cars and motorcycles. This scholarship is in support of the SAE Foundation to ensure an adequate supply of well-trained engineers for the future. Applicants must demonstrate active participation in extracurricular science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities that take place outside the classroom (such as in clubs or in association with other organizations).
