Substitute Application Process & Onboarding
Webster CSD is always looking for substitutes to join the One Webster team in a variety of positions, including teacher, paraprofessional, clerical, cafeteria aide, and student aide. We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with kids, represent the One Webster culture, and put students first.
Human Resources reviews your application & application materials
Once Human Resources is notified that you have applied for a substitute position, your application and application materials are reviewed. Please ensure you answer all parts/sections of the application and upload all of the required documents. If you meet the qualifications of the position, you will be contacted to schedule a screening interview via Google Meet.
Fingerprinting
New York State Education Department (NYSED) requires all public school staff to be fingerprinted. If you have not been fingerprinted by NYSED, please schedule your fingerprinting appointment only if offered a position. You can find out more information on the NYSED Fingerprint Process web page.
Eligibility for fingerprint reimbursement begins after completing 15 days of work. An original receipt is required for reimbursement which will be processed at the next reasonable payroll period.
Document Preparation
Please be prepared for your in-person onboarding appointment with Human Resources. A confirmation email will be sent to you along with the necessary paperwork. Print and complete the documents and bring them with you to your scheduled meeting. Also, be sure to review the retirement system information, either ERS (for non-teaching positions) or TRS (for teachers and teaching assistants).
Onboarding
During your onboarding meeting, we’ll review your paperwork, go over some specific Webster CSD documents, and you’ll receive training on the substitute job assignment process.
