Onboarding Process

Welcome to Webster CSD and congratulations on your new position! We are excited to have you as a part of the One Webster team and our school community. The onboarding resources and plan serve as a starting point for your career with us. The information listed is not all inclusive of what is available to the school community; however, these resources will establish a footing for you as you start your position. Once again, welcome and we are excited for you to join our One Webster family!

Before Your First Day

After a successful interview round with a hiring manager, our hiring managers will submit a recommendation for appointment to our Human Resources team. A hiring manager will also share information about how to schedule a fingerprint appointment.

1. Fingerprinting

If you have not already been fingerprinted by New York State Education Department (NYSED), please schedule your fingerprinting appointment. You may do so by following this link. NYSED requires all public school staff to be fingerprinted. Webster CSD does reimburse new hires for the cost of fingerprinting. A reimbursement form will be provided to you. Please bring your original fingerprinting receipt with you to your New Hire Orientation session with Human Resources.

2. Recommendation for Appointment

A representative from our Human Resources team will contact you to extend an official offer of employment from the district. During this initial contact, your rate of pay, hours, work location, benefits eligibility, and bargaining unit will be discussed. After initial contact an electronic offer will be sent for digital signature to officially accept the new position.

3. New Hire Paperwork

After the official recommendation for appointment has been signed a representative from our Human Resources office will contact you to set up an appointment for your New Hire Orientation and send you a packet of paperwork to complete. If you would like to request a printed copy of the above documents prior to the session, please contact Human Resources prior to your session. Printed copies can be picked up from the district office in advance of your appointment. Advanced notice is needed for this option.

4. New Hire Orientation with Human Resources

During our New Employee Orientation session, we will collect completed payroll and benefit selection documents from each new staff member. We will also review the WCSD employee handbook, Unit Contract, other district policy documents and answer any questions you may have.

5. Appointment for Tech Services

As a final step in the onboarding process for a new employee, a representative from the WCSD Help Desk will contact you to schedule an appointment to complete your technology activations and receive your school identification prior to your first day of work.

6. Ready for Your First Day

Throughout the onboarding process be in communication with your new supervisor. Your new supervisor will be able to coordinate when to arrive for your first day.
