This year marks a historic milestone: the Spry Middle School building is officially 100 years old. To honor a century of learning, growth, and community, Spry hosted an anniversary ceremony during their morning broadcast. The celebration featured a commemorative video shared with all students and staff.

Music Students to Celebrate Summer with Special Musical Sendoff:
The music departments from Spry Middle School and Webster Schroeder High School are preparing a special sendoff to summer — and the community is invited!
On Thursday, June 11, from 6:00–8:00 p.m., students, families, and community members are invited to gather outside the cafeteria doors at 119 South Avenue for an evening of music and treats.
The concert will feature performances by student musicians from each school’s band, choir, and orchestra programs, showcasing the talents of Spry and Schroeder students as the school year winds down. Food trucks from Eat Greek and Mr. Snowie Ice will also be on hand with refreshments available for purchase.

Musicians Tops at Darien Lake Music Fest:
Students from Webster Thomas High School and the One Webster Show Choir earned top honors at the Darien Lake Music Festival in Corfu on Friday, May 22, sweeping awards in multiple performance categories.

The Webster Thomas Concert Orchestra (AA Division), Webster Thomas Jazz Band (AA Division), One Webster Show Choir (AAA Division), Webster Thomas Philharmonic Orchestra (AAA Division), and Webster Thomas Jazz Ensemble (AAA Division) each earned first place finishes in their respective categories.

Stats Students Hit Home Run with Red Wings Visit:
Learning stats and making connections in the world of sports? That’s a home run! Our One Webster statistical reasoning in sports classes recently enjoyed a day at the ballpark—with an educational purpose!
Students got a behind-the-scenes tour of the Rochester Red Wings facilities, from the performance center and dugout to the press box, where they learned how technology and data analytics are changing the game in minor league baseball.
The experience didn’t stop there! A panel of five Red Wings employees shared their career journeys, college paths, and advice for finding success in the sports world. Even better? SparX Wraps Up Stellar Season:
Each January, FIRST® Robotics Competition presents high school teams with a new engineering challenge that requires the design, programming, and construction of industrial-sized robots for alliance-based competitive play. Guided by mentors throughout the season, students develop technical, engineering, and problem-solving skills while strengthening teamwork, leadership, and communication abilities. Congratulations to Webster Thomas High School senior Emmet E. and Titan Athletic Director Steve Lamonica! On April 23, Emmett was honored as a SAANYS Scholarship Award winner for his essay about his former elementary school principal.

Pittman & Piwko as Win Oak Tree Award for Teaching Excellence:
Webster Central School District (CSD) is proud to announce that Greg Pittman and Meghann Piwko have been selected as this year’s recipients of the prestigious Oak Tree Award, recognizing outstanding excellence and dedication in teaching.
Pittman, a fourth-grade teacher at Schlegel Road Elementary School, is this year’s honoree for the elementary level. Piwko, a sixth-grade literacy teacher at Spry Middle School, has been named the secondary level honoree.

Webster’s EMCC Students Excel at SkillsUSA States:
Congratulations to the 46 EMCC students who brought their A-game to the New York State SkillsUSA Championship on April 23.
Held at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, students showed off their incredible talents across a wide array of fields, from photography and cosmetology to welding and construction trades. The results were spectacular: 10 first place finishes, five second place finishes, and two third place finishes overall!
Three talented Webster Central School District competitors made their high schools proud—bringing home three first place titles and one third place title!

WCSD Calendar for 2026-27 School Year:
At its meeting Tuesday, March 10, the Webster CSD Board of Education approved the calendar for the 2026-27 school year. All One Webster students, grades preK-12, will begin classes Wednesday, September 2.
