Musicians Tops at Darien Lake Music Fest

Students from Webster Thomas High School and the One Webster Show Choir earned top honors at the Darien Lake Music Festival in Corfu on Friday, May 22, sweeping awards in multiple performance categories.

The Webster Thomas Concert Orchestra (AA Division), Webster Thomas Jazz Band (AA Division), One Webster Show Choir (AAA Division), Webster Thomas Philharmonic Orchestra (AAA Division), and Webster Thomas Jazz Ensemble (AAA Division) each earned first place finishes in their respective categories.

Several students also received individual recognition for Outstanding Soloist performances. Congratulations to Jazz Band soloists Ryan B., Steven M., and Marco R., Show Choir soloists Rylie B., Evan M., and Brody W., and Jazz Ensemble soloists Luke F., Nicoli G., and Ethan S. Additionally, the One Webster Show Choir’s Maryn B., Maximo C., Luke F., Ethan S., and Matthew W. earned an Outstanding Accompaniment Award.

Highlighting the day, the Webster Thomas Jazz Ensemble received the Judges' Award for the highest overall performance site score, earning an exceptional 99.1 out of 100.

The festival performance showcased the dedication, talent, and hard work of Webster students and music educators, as the ensembles proudly represented the Webster Central School District on the regional stage.
