As good community partners, Webster CSD works closely with the Webster Police Department. Officers Michael Payne Jr. and Tessa Frate are assigned by the Webster Police Department to the district as school resource officers (SROs), serving in all 11 schools, interacting with students preK-12, to enhance safety in the buildings and foster positive relationships with the students.
Our SROs play a vital role in fostering a safe and supportive learning environment. At the elementary level, they engage with students through reading sessions and teach important safety topics, including Holiday Safety, Bicycle Safety and Laws, Home Alone Safety, Stranger Danger, and general care for walking home alone.
At the secondary level, SROs Payne and Frate instruct courses in Digital Citizenship, Law and Justice, and Forensics. They provide hands-on learning experiences in crime scene investigation, evidence collection, and accident reconstruction. Every other year, they organize and lead Mock DWI Crashes at both high schools, promoting awareness and responsibility among students.
In addition to their educational role, SROs offer staff presentations on current drug trends and safety protocols. They support our district by assisting with: traffic management during daily arrivals and dismissals, conducting threat assessments and drills, and leading safety initiatives. Together, we are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
