Schroeder Senior Finishes in Top 6 in National YEA Competition
Webster Schroeder High School senior Joshua M. took part in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) Saunders Scholars National Competition the weekend of June 4, presenting his business Oncall. Josh, an active member of Webster YEA!, won his round of semi-finals & and went on to finish in the top six in the nation!
Oncall is a digital application that would be the “Uber” for nurses. It would allow hospitals to post shifts for nurses to select at their convenience. In return, Oncall could recruit their own nurses to pick up more or less shifts at their own convenience. Josh came up with the idea from watching his mom, a nurse staffing coordinator who has seen the many problems that nurses face.
Josh is attending Rochester Institute of Technology in the fall for marketing and entrepreneurship to continue to pursue his business knowledge and idea.
The national competition was broadcast across the country and locally on 13 WHAM.
Way to go Josh!
