Allison Rocco
Allison Rocco, an educator within the Webster CSD, has been named the 2026 Central Western Zone Adaptive Physical Education Rising Star by the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NYS AHPERD).

The Rising Star award recognizes new professionals who demonstrate outstanding work ethic, innovative teaching methods, and an unwavering dedication to their students and the physical education profession.

Rocco began her teaching career in 2021 and joined Webster CSD in 2023. She currently teaches and advocates for students across three elementary schools: Plank Road North, Plank Road South, and State Road. Rocco was nominated for the honor by a colleague who recognized her as a true professional who exemplifies excellence in elementary-level adaptive physical education.

“Our committee believes Allison is a novice professional who should be acknowledged for her dedication and passion for teaching adaptive physical education,” said Michelle Craig, Central Western Zone Awards Chair and a physical education teacher at Plank Road North.

Rocco will be formally recognized for her achievements by NYS AHPERD, an organization dedicated to supporting physical literacy and health for all students.

About NYS AHPERD: NYS AHPERD is a professional membership service organization comprised of committed, dynamic members who care deeply about their teaching, students, athletes, and school communities. Its mission is to support its members in promoting health and physical literacy for all.
