Everybody Cut Loose at Thomas Musical!
Webster Thomas Performing Arts is proud to announce its upcoming production of Footloose. This high-energy show will run the weekend of March 5-7 at the Webster Thomas High School Auditorium 800 Five Mile Line Road.Based on the 1984 hit film, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people while guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind, remembering forgiveness is the strongest choice we can make.
When teenager Ren McCormack moves from Chicago to the small town of Bomont, he is shocked to find that dancing has been outlawed by the local government and the influential Reverend Shaw Moore. Determined to bring life back to the community, Ren teams up with the Reverend’s rebellious daughter, Ariel, and his best friend, Willard, to challenge the law and organize a school dance. To the rhythm of iconic 1980s hits like "Holding Out for a Hero" and "Let’s Hear It for the Boy," the town eventually heals from past tragedies and learns the power of forgiveness–and the joy of movement–is the path to peace in their town.
This production features a talented cast, crew, and pit of nearly 100 Webster Thomas students, bringing to life the memorable characters and infamous songs that have made Footloose a cult-classic.
