Teachers, Students Share Art Space at Naz Exhibit
Webster CSD students and staff are participating in an art show where their works are displayed side-by-side. Shared Spaces opened January 30 and runs through March 8 at the Nazareth University Arts Center Gallery, 4245 East Avenue, Rochester.Hosted biennially by Nazareth University, Shared Spaces is an exhibition dedicated to the mentorship dynamic between high school art teachers and their students. Participating teachers submit one recent original work (created within the past three years) and select one student to exhibit alongside them. To emphasize the equality of the gallery space, all pieces are displayed anonymously, removing the distinction between instructor and apprentice.
This year Webster CSD is pleased to have seven of its art educators displaying alongside seven of our students. From Webster Schroeder High School, the work of teachers Jack Golden, Mackenzie O’Hara, Cate Zalewski, and Danielle Zatkowsky are on display alongside their students Cooper H., Itahlia P., Liliy T., and Maura U. From Webster Thomas High School, the art of teachers Todd Stahl, Anna Henry, and Cathy Morrill are on display alongside their students Cora C., Anna M., and Alyssa B.
The public is welcome to enjoy Shared Spaces at the Arts Center Gallery through March 8 during gallery hours: Tuesday-Thursday noon-5:00 p.m., Friday-Saturday noon-8:00 p.m., and Sunday noon-5:00 p.m. Closed Monday.
