Art Exhibit to Benefit Child Advocacy Center
Webster CSD students and staff are showcasing their artistic talents in a month-long art exhibit at Ugly Duck Coffee in Rochester, with proceeds benefiting the Child Advocacy Center of Rochester (formerly Bivona).
The Urban Landscape of Rochester, featuring works inspired by Rochester’s landscape and architecture, opens with a public reception on Thursday, April 4, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Ugly Duck Coffee, located at 89 Charlotte St., Rochester. The exhibit will remain on display throughout April.
Participating artists include advanced placement drawing students from Webster Thomas High School: Gabbie C., Adri D., Kaylie D., Max D., Evie F., Trinity H., Julia J., Audrey J., Aubrey L., Natalia L., Bella M., Kate M., Dillon P., DaniLee P., Anthony R., Addie S., Siera S., and Lilyan S. Joining them are their teacher, Todd Stahl, along with Webster Thomas drawing teacher Anna Henry, and Webster Schroeder High School art teacher Jack Golden.
The artists captured the essence of Rochester through photographs, which they then transformed into unique drawings. Some depict specific businesses while others highlight little hidden moments within the city that the artist loves.
All 9"x12" drawings are shrink-wrapped and mounted on foam core, courtesy of Rochester Picture Framing. They are available for a suggested donation of $50, with all proceeds directly supporting the Child Advocacy Center of Rochester. The students selected this organization, which is dedicated to providing support and advocacy for children affected by abuse, due to its significant impact on impact on some of their classmates. Artwork will be available for pickup or delivery after the exhibit concludes.
The public is invited to attend the reception and view the exhibit throughout April. Ugly Duck Coffee is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
