Spry Vocal Groups Hit a High Note – Double Gold
Spry Middle School's vocal powerhouses, SoundWave 6 and SoundWave 7/8, just dropped the mic (figuratively, of course) and snagged Gold at the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Major Organization Evaluation Festival! After a 15-year wait, Spry's singers brought home the bling, and they doubled down! Both groups rocked the house in Honeoye on April 1, proving that lunchtime rehearsals and dedication pay off big time.
A Gold rating is awarded to ensembles that demonstrate an outstanding level of technical and artistic skill in their performance—an incredible accomplishment that reflects the high standards and hard work of these singing Warriors.
Guiding the vocal virtuosos of SoundWave 7/8 are co-directors Stephen Costanza and Katie Goodman. Goodman also directs the talented SoundWave 6.
“These students go above and beyond, giving up their lunch study periods to participate in SoundWave, showing true dedication to their craft and their ensemble,” said Goodman. “We are so proud of their commitment, teamwork, and musical excellence!”
So, next time you hear a killer tune coming from Spry Middle School, remember – you're listening to Gold-winning talent!
