Marching Band to Host Autumn Fanfare on October 8

Music and pageantry will fill the Warrior Stadium on October 8 as the Webster Marching Band hosts Autumn Fanfare!
The public is invited to come watch 10 different field bands, including the Class, Pride and Style of Webster, perform and compete at 875 Ridge Road, Webster. Gates open at 5:00 p.m., and the show starts at 6:00 p.m., rain or shine! Tickets may be purchased in advance at Hegedorn's for $7. They are also available at the gate for $9.
Webster Marching Band won last year’s state title and is determined to repeat. Their show this year, "Only Light Can Do That", revolves around being the light in a dark world. It reminds people that fighting hate with hate only creates more hate, and that fighting darkness with darkness only creates darkness. Illustrating that change can begin with one person at a time, and that light and positivity can be infectious.
Their performance starts with a flute soloist who plays a melody that repeats throughout the show. This represents the light. In Movement One (“Darkness”), the rest of the ensemble represents the darkness that overtakes the single light. However, in Movements Two (“Shining Through”) and Three (“Light”), you hear and see a shift of positivity when the full ensemble plays the “light” melody which represents light overtaking all of the darkness. Musical selections include original music by Webster Marching Band Director Jerbrel Bowens.
So don’t miss out! Come see Webster Marching Band and nine other field bands at Autumn Fanfare on Saturday, October 8. Performance schedule is: Marcus Whitman, 6:00 p.m.; Le Roy, 6:13 p.m.; Hilton, 6:26 p.m.; Greece, 6:39 p.m.; Webster, 7:12 p.m.; West Seneca, 7:25 p.m.; Medina, 7:38 p.m.; East Irondequoit, 7:51 p.m.; Lancaster, 8:04 p.m.; and Victor, 8:17 p.m.
