One Webster Students Standout at Cybersecurity Competition

On Saturday, December 1, a dozen Webster high schools students attended the inaugural High School Lockdown Cybersecurity Competition at the University of Buffalo.  Teams of four students had to defend a network against hackers in real-time, complete business tasks, maintain a budget, and participate in a Capture the Flag event. The One Webster team of Kevin Bates (Webster Schroeder), Jason Brown (Webster Schroeder), Skyler Ferrante (Webster Schroeder), and Michael Geraci (Webster Thomas) took first place overall in the competition. The Webster Thomas team of Allison Broccolo, Chris Riek, Alexandra Valachovic, and Alessandra Visca placed first in Capture the Flag. All participants learned an amazing amount about cyber security!
