Willink Student-Parent Band Seeks Performers for 25th Anniversary Concert
Calling all Willink Middle School families and alumni! Join the 25th anniversary of the Willink Student-Parent Band!
A Webster tradition since 1994, the Willink Student-Parent Band brings students, family, and community together to create music and have fun in the process. It doesn’t matter if performers haven't played in 20 years. Don't be shy! The band welcomes all levels of experience, beginner to advanced! Register today by visiting bit.ly/willink-music and clicking on the Student-Parent Band link.
Rehearsals are at Willink Middle School, 7:00-9:00 p.m., on Wednesdays and a few alternating Thursdays during January, February and March (click link at bottom of page). If you have a conflict with some of the rehearsals, you can still participate. If school or after-school activities are cancelled due to inclement weather, rehearsal is cancelled as well. The concert is Saturday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Willink Middle School cafetorium.
The music is fun, easy to prepare, and definitely NOT intimidating. If you don’t have an instrument, the band directors will try to get one for you. Keyboard or string players are also welcome! If you don’t play an instrument but still want to contribute, help is needed with organization, publicity, and many other roles that help to make the group successful.
This is an extra special year as it is the 25th anniversary of the Willink Student-Parent Band. The group is planning an exciting program as well as some special guests, and it would be great to see many new faces, as well as familiar ones from the past. This is a fun and educational opportunity for parents and kids to participate in together in a community-building experience.
The first meeting is Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Willink Middle School band room. Please bring your instrument, if you have one, as the group will be playing.
For further information, please contact student-parent band directors Tiffany DiPiazza (email@example.com, 670-1061) or Matt Osika (firstname.lastname@example.org, 670-1539).
