Kyle will represent the Webster Schroeder High School Wind Ensemble and play euphonium in the concert band with renowned conductor Dr. T. André Feagin, director of bands and assistant professor of music at Coastal Carolina University (CCU).
Three hundred of the best student musicians from around the country will be participating in four ensembles representing chorus, band, orchestra, and jazz.  For a high school musician, this is the ultimate recognition of music student performance, beyond state and divisional levels.
Webster CSD is also pleased to announce that 10 students have been selected to represent their school at the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Conference All-State in Rochester, November 30-December 3.  Thousands of students auditioned for this honor last spring at solo and ensemble festivals throughout the state.  Concerts will be held at the acclaimed Eastman Theatre after rehearsals take place throughout the conference.

Finally, we would like to congratulate a total of 58 student musicians in our secondary music department who participated in the Junior High (grades 7-9) and Senior High (grades 10-12) Area-All-State festivals this month in either band, chorus, or orchestra.  These are elite culminating performance experiences on their own and the stepping stones to conference and national levels.
“I would like to personally thank the dedicated WCSD music teachers who go above and beyond to offer the solo festival experience each spring to hundreds of our students,” said Michael Roller, WCSD Director of Fine Arts. “They continue this commitment as they guide students through the honors festivals in the fall.  Students grasp the challenge of solo preparation to stretch their own limits and maximize their potential.  The rewards come not only to those who are accepted into an honor ensemble, but to all who take the feedback they receive and grow their interest and love of sharing music with others.”
