Quarter Mile of Quarters On March 8th through March 12th the Kiwanis K-Kids, along with State Road School, will be raising money for a foundation sponsored by Golisano Children’s Hospital, called the Quarter Mile of Quarters. There will be a theme each day that will ask for different types of money to be brought in. Each grade level will have their own jar and all jars will be located in a place that everyone can see and compare who is in the lead each day. The grade level that has the most at the end of the week will be recognized with a special privilege later in the month. Themes by Day: Monday (3/8)- Money Monday- bring in any kind of money Tuesday (3/9)- Two Quarter Tuesday-bring in two quarters Wednesday (3/10)- Wed”dimes”day- bring in dimes Thursday (3/11)- Thirsty Thursday- bring in cans or plastic bottles (no glass) to be returned for 5 cents Friday (3/12)- Frugal Friday- bring in just pennies

Science Fair 2010 Science Fair will be held on March 17, 2010. Please see the Science Fair link on the left for more information regarding the Science Fair at State Road. Applications were due on March 8, 2010. Scientists can do a project on an experiment, research in an area of science or an invention (my favorite!) Open from 11:45-12:45 (usually twice a week) If you are a Kindergartener, 1st grader or 2nd grader please fill out an order form if you wish to purchase something from the school store. The Eyrie Emporium will be open once a month for 1st and 2nd grade lunches. Start thinking about the Reflections Contest held by the PTA. The theme this year is "Together we can..." Entries are due March 19, 2010 and we would like to see more students participate their creative writing, photographs, videos, etc...in the contest this year! Let's have a State Road Eagle be a winner! **Miss Ceckowski has a contest that students can work on during their art classes when they are finished working on projects. It is from Ginna and is called Go Green, Go Natural Calendar Art Contest. Please see the Contest Link to the left for more information regarding this contest**
