Plank North Elementary

Principal, David Peter      Assistant Principal, Heather Balsamo

Plank Road North School was opened in 1958 at 705 Plank Road. The building consists of three wings connected by a central hallway where the Main Office, Library and Cafeteria are located. Plank North students and teachers work with the Common Core Curriculum in ELA and Math.  Reading instruction in the Primary Grades promote the development of foundational skills.  Students in Grades K-5 work with the State's Reading resources which are supplemented with Guided Reading and Writer's Workshop.  Math instruction (K-5) is supported through the use of Math Expressions which is a resource closely aligned with the Common Core Learning Standards. Students in grades K-5 participate in Physical Education classes, Art and Music instruction on a weekly basis. Band and Orchestra are offered with instrumental lessons beginning in 4th grade. Chorus and Art Club are also options for students in grades 4 and 5.

We have a full service cafeteria that provides a daily hot lunch with a variety of ala carte options.

The Plank North PTSA is active and provides many services to the school along with numerous opportunities for parents to volunteer their time, energy and expertise.

Plank Road North currently services students in Kindergarten (Full-day) through 5th grade.

Some fluctuation occurs from year to year, but we typically expect four sections, or classes at most of our grade levels.
