Webster Central School District Mission
The Mission of the Webster Central School District is to provide an environment in which all  students achieve success and become productive citizens. 

Strategic Planning Initiative
The Webster Central School District engaged in a strategic planning initiative during the 2010-2011 school year.  With the help of PLC Associates, Inc., a local consulting firm, a core team of administrators, teachers, students, parents, business leaders, and community residents pursued an ambitious agenda that resulted in a final report that was presented to the Board of Education in workshop setting on May 26 and was accepted by the board during its June 2 business meeting.

Strategic Planning Charge:
To develop a comprehensive, future-focused report predicated on the best thinking of all distrist stakeholders which will provide the district with a clear blueprint for guiding its strategic direction, set ambitious goals, and further its collective capacity.  Its ultimate accomplishment, the continued growth as a high performing district, positions WCSD students to achieve great things, and to be ready for the challenges of the 21st century. 

 

Strategic Planning Work

Focused on three key areas:

1. District Surveys – All district stakeholders (employees, students, and community members) had the opportunity to offer their views through one of three surveys designed, distributed, and analyzed by the Core Team.  

2. Task Forces – Three task forces: Technology, Family Engagement, and Communication, used survey results, as well as national and local research, to identify key focus areas to enhance the district’s work in these three areas.

3. Core Beliefs – Core team members, in collaboration with staff, students, and community members, identified seven core beliefs that represents our community’s unwavering commitment to student learning.  Each member of our school community contributes to an environment of achievement and personal growth. 
The following core beliefs serve as the foundation of all district initiatives:

  1. Students First: Each student is invaluable.
  2. Continuous Improvement: Growth is a process that involves risk-taking, making mistakes, and perseverance.
  3. Exploration and Innovation: Creativity and discovery are inspired by asking questions where answers are uncertain.
  4. Collaboration: We are smarter and stronger together.
  5. Communication: Open exchange of ideas builds trust and confidence.
  6. Accountability: Attaining excellence is a shared responsibility.
  7. Fiscal Responsibility: Students are worthy of our wise investments.
