Resources for Research

Find supporting materials here to implement the Big 6 Research Process with your students!

These documents were designed with a developmental approach and include the Big6 research process.  The Big6 is an information problem-solving process that teaches information literacy skills and provides strategies to effectively and efficiently meet information needs.  The district wide use of this process will provide a consistent method for students to approach problem solving across curricula and grade levels.  The classroom teacher in collaboration with the School Library Media Specialist (SLMS) can instruct students in the proper use of this methodology for specific projects.  In addition, in our ever-increasing information world, the process can become a lifelong skill used in many different aspects of life.

The Big6(TM) is copyright (1987) Michael B. Eisenberg and Robert E. Berkowitz.  For more information visit: www.big6.com.

Remember to see your friendly Librarian for any questions about research or the Big 6.
