Plank North Elementary 705 Plank Road, Webster NY 14580

Plank Road North School was opened in 1958 at 705 Plank Road. The building consists of three wings connected by a central hallway where the Main Office, Library and Cafeteria are located. Plank North students and teachers work with a uniform district-based curriculum and report card. Materials and methods used can vary from classroom to classroom. Students in grades 1-5 participate in Physical Education classes, Art and Music instruction on a weekly basis. Band and Orchestra are offered with instrumental lessons beginning in 4th grade. Chorus is another option for students in grades 4 and 5.

We have a full service cafeteria that provides a daily hot lunch with a variety of snacks and beverages.

The Plank North PTSA is active and provides many services to the school. This provides numerous opportunities for parents to volunteer their time, energy and expertise.

Plank North is located in an area that has experienced growth due to new construction and is expected to see continued growth over the next several years.

Plank Road North currently serves students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Some fluctuation occurs from year to year, but our recent experience gives us some confidence to expect four sections, or classes at most of our grade levels.

The Board of Education (BOE) received an update report on the Five-Year Facilities Plan at their July 13, 2004 meeting. Projects across the district were placed into priority with Essential Work projected to occur during Construction Years 2005-2006. Plank North has approximately $1.1 million in "Essential Work" projects primarily related to Heating/Ventilation and Electrical upgrades. An additional $6.4 million in projects are also outlined in the Five-Year Plan for Plank North.

The BOE charged a committee with a series of tasks that will help to guide them in their decision making associated with the maintenance of district facilities. This committee will forward recommendations for consideration by the Board of Education in August 2005.
